Assemblyman receives highest score in Business Council’s rankings

Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) has been named the top pro-jobs supporter in the 212 member New York State Legislature by The Business Council of New York, receiving a 92 percent score. The rankings are based on votes taken during the 2012 Legislative Session on a number of bills pertaining to the economic health and viability of New York.

“I believe that my greatest responsibility as a state legislator is to help get Western New York’s economy back on track.  I want to ensure that our children and grandchildren have the opportunity to work, live and raise a family right here in the communities that we so proudly call home,” said Walter. “The only way to accomplish that goal is to support policies that will have a positive impact on our business climate. That’s why I’m so proud to have cast my vote to reduce spending and taxes, decrease job-killing regulations and support job-creating economic development packages right here in our own backyard. I thank the Business Council for their continued advocacy in growing New York’s private sector and breaking down barriers to entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation,” said the Assemblyman.  “I am confident that we can build on our recent successes and provide the jobs we need to continue to rebuild Western New York's economy.”
