WALTER APPOINTED TO COMMITTEE ON BANKS

Assemblyman Raymond Walter assigned to additional committee

Assemblyman Raymond Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) announced today that he has been appointed to the Committee on Banks by Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua). Walter expressed excitement about the appointment and his commitment to ensuring that Amherst and Pendleton continue to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.

"Western New York is an extremely important area for banking and personal finance in our great state," said Walter. "With M&T Bank and First Niagara being headquartered in our region and thousands of people employed in the banking industry here, the Committee on Banks is a natural fit.  I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure we continue to create a positive economic atmosphere for these big employers, support local enterprises, ensure residents and homeowners are protected from unfair banking practices and continue our community’s tradition as an important center for banking.”

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Assemblyman Raymond Walter to the Assembly Committee on Banks,” Leader Kolb said. “Western New York is home to a number of prominent companies in the banking industry. Ray has a great opportunity to use the skills he brings to the Assembly to ensure that local families and small businesses can continue to benefit from the resources a hometown bank provides for generations to come.”

Walter, will continue to serve on the committees for Insurance, Housing, Health, and Ways and Means, and is the Ranking Minority member of the Aging Committee.
