Walter Selected to Fight for Families' Health Care

Today, Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst) attended the 2013-14 Budget Conference Committee Hearing on Health. Walter was selected to represent the Assembly Minority Conference, given his leadership and experience as a member of the Health Committee. Specifically, Walter has been advocating for the restoration of a 6 percent cut (equating to $120 million) to private, non-profit providers of support to people with developmental disabilities.

“Our families deserve easily accessible, quality and affordable health care, and I will make sure that Western New York, specifically, is at the forefront of our budget talks,” said Walter. “Some of the state’s most pressing issues will be discussed and I am honored to be selected to serve on this committee.  I am hopeful that we can devise a plan to address them in a way that will satisfy all parties involved.”
